Come January 2024, it will be my 26th year of teaching here in the Mount Pleasant Elementary School District. I have worked in several different educational environments from private church run pre-school programs to child care centers in the San Diego Unified School District. I have to say, here at IJAVV is where I call my second home. Teaching is my passion. I was born to be a teacher and knew by the 6th grade that this is what I would become. Although challenging,  there is is a lot of joy for me as a teacher. The classroom is where I feel most comfortable, and I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.

            Here in room 7, you’ll find a classroom where students come to learn, to grow, to discover all that they are capable of. You’ll find an enthusiasm for learning and students working together as a team. It is a place for discovery. It’s a place where seeds of knowledge are planted and where children blossom.

            Working together provides the greater assurance that your child will be successful in first grade and beyond, but the greatest element in learning is that it begins at home with families that set the standards and expectations for academic success.
